ABOUT AYO DOS ELITE

Ayo Dos Elite was created by Chicago native and NBA player Ayo Dosunmu, rooted in the belief that basketball is more than just a game, it’s a vehicle for growth, discipline, and opportunity.

Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, Ayo experienced firsthand the importance of having structure, mentorship, and people who genuinely believed in him. From neighborhood courts to elite programs, every step of his journey was shaped by coaches, family members, and community leaders who pushed him to be accountable, confident, and prepared, both on and off the court.

Ayo Dos Elite was born from a desire to give that same support to the next generation. This program is designed to be a safe, competitive, and empowering space where young athletes can sharpen their skills, build character, and learn what it truly means to be a leader.

Looking ahead, Ayo is committed to creating long-term impact, not just winning games, but developing young men who understand hard work, respect, resilience, and responsibility. Ayo Dos Elite is about legacy, community, and preparing athletes for life far beyond basketball.

At Ayo Dos Elite, we believe basketball is a classroom. Wins matter, but character matters more. Every drill, practice, and game is an opportunity to teach life skills, communication, teamwork, resilience, and self-belief.

Our purpose is to guide young athletes as they discover who they are, what they stand for, and what they are capable of becoming. We don’t just build players. We build leaders.

My 1st year as a parent with Ayo Dos Elite was Great. Being apart of a great program for 5 plus years and having to find another program was one of the hardest decisions as a parent I had to do.

Joining Ayo Dos Elite didn’t disappoint me. Family oriented, skill development, great leadership, giving kids opportunities to be themselves while developing. One band one sound.

Directing and coachng for AyoDosElite is a full circle moment. When my son, Ayo, shared with me that he wanted to start his own AAU team was filled with joy.

Its great to see coaches I coached give back and assist the future generation of ballers. I try to sit back and let them come into their own.

Being a newer AAU team in Chicago requires hard work and dedication. It’s all worth it knowing my sons, and mentees are giving to others what myself and other great Chicago coaches gave to them.

Its more than basketball, and Ayo Dos Elite is more than an AAU team. Its a continuance of the Dosunmu Legacy.
